Women Build Week is an opportunity to empower women building safe, affordable, decent housing in Montgomery County.
Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County (HFHMC) will be hosting another Women Build Week from January 29, 2014 through February 1, 2014 at 921 W. Airy Street, Norristown, PA. Women Build Week is a week-long opportunity to bring together women from all walks of life to address the housing crisis facing thousands of women and children in Montgomery County by raising money and volunteering at least one day to build a safe, decent, affordable home in our community.
This year, our women volunteers will be working on a home that was donated to HFHMC by an elderly couple who were given the home 50 years ago when they were raising their then growing family. Last year, the couple decided it was time to downsize but it was important to them to provide another hardworking family with the same opportunity and hope they were given all those years ago.
Our women volunteers will gain confidence, skills, and friendship while working alongside a talented team of women crew leaders and a dedicated partner family. Sanae, a single mother with four beautiful children, will contribute at least 200 “sweat equity” hours on the construction of her home.
Come help this hardworking mother build a home for her children!
