I am a senior on the Conestoga football team, I play safety and wide receiver. I also run track at Conestoga where I throw the Javelin, and run the 100 and 4x100m sprints. I participated in my football team's day of service, where I spent the day doing demolition to an old dilapidated house in Philadelphia, and it really had an impact on me. I realized what kind of impact the work I did had on the community. I am very excited that my football team and I are doing another day of service with Habitat for Humanity.
Conestoga football brings heart to the game—and they’re bringing it to the community, too. On Saturday, October 26, Conestoga will spend 8 hours volunteering with Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia in the fight for safe, affordable housing.
Help our team maximize their impact this year by sponsoring your favorite player and his eight hours of service. Each hour a player volunteers, he helps a hard-working family move one step closer to their dream of homeownership. And each dollar you invest in a player tonight helps him tackle poverty housing with Habitat: to build houses, build hope, and build Philadelphia.
Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia is an independently chartered affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI), the largest nonprofit homebuilder worldwide.
Locally, Habitat Philadelphia is on a mission to transform lives and our city by building and repairing quality homes in partnership with families in need, and uniting all Philadelphians around the cause of affordable housing. Our Vision is a city where all Philadelphians live in safe, affordable homes. Since 1985, Habitat Philadelphia has empowered 170 families to achieve their dreams of homeownership and break the cycle of poverty. Since 2011 we have also provided critical home repair and weatherization services to 70+ low-income homeowners in order to preserve the comfort and safety of their homes.
